About me
Artist, Art Therapy Practitioner, and Explorer of Creative Expression
I am Sonia Abbasi, an artist based in Italy, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Therapy at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
My artistic journey has always been guided by curiosity, exploration, and a desire to understand both the visible and the unseen aspects of life. Rather than following predefined rules, I developed my own visual language through intuitive and spontaneous creation. Inspired by people, nature, sounds, forms, emotions, and the subtle energies that surround us, I allowed each artwork to emerge organically. Vivid colors, rich textures, and expressive patterns became a way of transforming experiences, feelings, and inner landscapes into visual stories.
Over time, art became much more than a creative practice. During periods of loneliness, uncertainty, and personal challenges, it became a space where I could express what words could not capture. Through creating, I found meaning, explored my inner world, and gradually developed a deeper understanding of myself. Art became a bridge between conscious awareness and intuition, allowing me to access hidden emotions, untold stories, and dimensions of experience that often remain unseen.
The more I explored, the more I realized that creativity holds a unique power—not only to express, but also to heal. What began as a personal journey of self-discovery gradually revealed itself as a path of transformation. Art became a way of navigating difficulties, reconnecting with myself, and discovering new possibilities for growth and resilience.
This realization led me to the field of Art Therapy. I understood that the creative process can offer others what it once offered me: a safe space to express, explore, heal, and discover their own inner resources.
Today, through individual art therapy sessions, workshops, creative experiences, and my artistic practice, I support people who are navigating challenges, seeking self-discovery, or simply wishing to reconnect with themselves through creativity. My work is rooted in the belief that every person carries a unique creative voice and an innate capacity for growth, healing, and transformation.
I believe that art allows us to see what often remains hidden beneath the surface. It invites us to explore the unseen, embrace our authentic selves, and uncover the magic that already exists within us.
Discover the Magic Yourself.
